A new year, a tired you

Well, it's been awhile since I have been on here.  I have been so busy with school and school that I forgot I had a blog.  If we haven't spoken or emailed or face-booked in awhile it's because life is hectic.

This school year has started off very differently from others.  For starters, I am not coaching any more, and I don't miss it one bit!!!  I was a tiny bit sad when the school year started and briefly considered going back when I heard they needed extra people (as I knew they would), but I knew I would not be able to handle the hours due to my other commitments.  We also have a new building principal, and EVERYONE at my school is stressed out from here to kingdom come.  I have never worked so hard in my life.  We hear everything from kids can't fail to kids can't have zeroes.  I can't imagine having coaching duties PLUS all the administrative stuff we are doing.  My co-workers and I have been working so hard to get our kids passing, but nobody has ever expressed to some of these kids that they need to do some work.  Teachers shouldn't have to chase them down to get it completed.

On a happier note, Natalie is 1 1/2 now and is the love of my life--besides Henry.  I wish I could just record her whole day so that I wouldn't miss a thing.  I can't tell you how many times I have said, "Why don't we have a camera out?"  Each day she impresses us with the tiniest little things, and we are amazed at how inquisitive she is.  "No" is a popular word, but she mostly uses it with Lacy.  I can honestly say Natalie is the best thing that has ever happened to me.  Today was lucky enough to be the recipient of random kisses while talking to a friend.  It made my whole year just to receive those kisses because they are few and far between.

In other news, I have now completed one year of my graduate course work for school counseling.  I really am excited that I am so close to finishing.  Once I finish the program, I plan to take the courses to receive my LPC (licensed professional counselor).  I really do enjoy teaching, but I am ready to move on.  I believe that I am supposed to be in education, but it is time to go in a different direction.  I love my students and this age group, but I have more to give to them just preparing them for a science test.

I will try to do a better job of updating this.  Maybe Christmas will give a few minutes to update.  Hopefully you will check back soon.
